MasterClass

Jimmy Chin Teaches Adventure Photography, from MasterClass

Jimmy Chin is on top of the game when it comes to Adventure Photography. His work has inspired me to push my own boundaries in photography and challenged me to look for new creative shots, see some examples below. This MasterClass was one of the first photography workshops I studied after picking up a camera. Jimmy’s 20 lesson MasterClass covers a wide range of techniques and topics. Specifically I enjoyed the lessons detailing camera settings for working in conditions where you have limited time to shoot and want to make sure you capture at least something useable! I also found value in his thoughts on framing and techniques for positioning subjects within wilderness landscapes when you have a bit more time to contemplate the shot.

In addition to Jimmy’s class there are several other photography legends who have created their own tutorials on MasterClass which you may find equally as interesting. And as a side note, since I opted for the full subscription I also watched a number of the other MasterClass lessons which were surprisingly fun. I even spent a Sunday learning how to make croissants because who doesn’t love croissants? In fact the entire chef series has arguably been even more useful to me than the photography classes!

Below, you’ll see examples of some of my images which were inspired by techniques I applied from Jimmy’s MasterClass. I’ll save the croissant pics for another post…
