Beach Enclave - Long Bay Villas
The roads will destroy your rental car and there aren’t any good restaurants for miles… How long can Long Bay remain that way?
I hope forever. Considered the ugly duckling when compared to its cross island neighbor Grace Bay (Tripadvisor’s 5th ranked beach in the world), Long Bay is still a relative unknown. I hope that doesn’t change, however judging by the new construction projects along this 3 mile stretch the secret seems pretty much cooked. Maybe that’s not all bad, as with change comes new beautiful spaces like Beach Enclave. Let me be the first to tell you, this new villa development tucked into the eastern corner of kiteboarding paradise is something special.
The water in Turks is just different.
It’s bluer. That’s the most scientific way to describe it. Their water is bluer than yours. Something about gazing out at the Caribbean here is soothing, meditative almost, and without getting all philosophical - something about it just makes me feel at ease. Kit Griffith’s (pictured left) was raised not far from where this shot was taken, and if you visit the islands without running into him you’re doing it wrong.
Field Notes.
The Turks & Caicos are a kiteboarding dream, the clear water, warm temps and sand bottom shallow lagoons that stay calm even in strong winds make for epic sessions that last for hours, and memories that last for much longer. Long Bay Beach is the most popular kite spot but a boat and a knowledgable captain will open up a thousand other world class riding zones all within 30 minutes. Kiting is just the tip of the iceberg. TCI has awesome diving, snorkeling, golf, fishing, boating and even some great surfing (don’t tell anyone). You will need to rent a car, and PSA, they drive on the left side of the road…. more than once I had to be reminded of that fact. Better idea, rent a boat instead and then you can drive wherever you want.
Beach Enclave Long Bay has something no other resort can match - they have the best location on Long Bay hands down. The villa community is tucked into the far corner of the bay providing privacy and the best kite conditions due to the shallow sandy bottom directly in front of the property. The villas themselves were completed in 2019 and the level of finish is impressive. You’ll find full Sonos sound systems in every unit, large bedrooms all with views of the ocean and a full kitchen for you (or a private chef) to prepare fresh meals daily.
